Healthy eating for little Ben

January 23, 2008

Hi Ben here reporting on the sports fitness day at Lilleshaw - the first thing we did was diet and nutrition which was an eye opener for me and my Dad because we think we eat healthy until you get a lesson from the professionals.

It took a long time it was like being at school but it was worth it, then at dinner we all went to the canteen and all they cooked was proper healthy stuff which before the diet lesson I didn’t realise how good all my vegetables are for me so I had a big plate full, so now I was ready for the gym test.

I was the youngest and smallest but my Dad says I have good power to weight for a 10 year old but out of the road racers and motocross lads I did ok, I don’t think I was last.

My Dad told me I didn’t take the running bleep test serious because I was taking it as a bit of fun and laughing - that why I dropped out first, so the results will be out soon and my Dad says he knows what to work to improve as we are back at the end of the year.

After all this we jumped in the car and went to Dunkirk for the day, a friend had took my bike for me so on the way we stopped at Marks and Spencer at the motorway services and got a load of healthy food which cost nearly £20.00 - my dad said this healthy eating is a dear job!

The next day my Dad said I was riding poor and asked what was wrong, I told him I was tired from yesterday, he said it was because I had been using different muscles in the gym than what I was used to, different from what we use on a bike.

The last session of the day my Dad said I rode well and I told him that’s because I put everything into that last session, my Dad says I am on the pace of the other 85cc riders for sure. My hour meter says 10 hours now on the 85cc so it’s still early days.

Bye
Ben
