Watson appeal turned down

April 17, 2008

Ben here reporting on the latest , well not much since Desertmartin and just to say my appeal against the harshness of my 45 point race win disqualification has been turned down, I told the Irish I did jump maybe too far on the double yellow flag, I wasn't disputing that, I just thought taking all my points was hard on me , maybe a minute penalty or something.

I am putting that behind me now and I know it’s going to be hard to get back into the championship contentions but I am capable of winning races so hopefully my new engine will be ready for Mildenhall which will be 78cc the Desertmartin bike was only 72cc, I know it’s not much more but it will help a bit on the starts.

The whole reason for riding the 65cc was that I was to race the Dutch small wheel championships this year against riders of the same age, I am still ten and some of the riders I am up against in Britain are 13 but I enjoy the bike so much I told my dad I wanted to stay on it.

At first he said it wouldn't be competitive but some of the early club events proved it was good, I won all of them apart from the O2 supercross and the bike was still a 65cc. Right now I’ve been out doing some practicing on my 65 little wheel bike ready for Italy the first European championship this weekend. I can’t race the 85cc until I’m 12 years old. I will report after the weekend and let you know how I got on. Bye for now Ben
