Walkley’s winter wonderland

December 18, 2007

Me and my Dad left Wales on the 15th December to travel to Dunkirk for a training weekend with the ACU Academy, it was my first time riding on foreign soil and my first training session with Mark Hucklebridge.

I only managed to get two hours sleep on Friday night because of the travelling and had to put in two hours plus of solid riding on the Saturday - it was hard going but awesome!

The track was the roughest and hardest I had ridden in a long time but found it challenging to ride and was able to reduce my lap times and by the end of the 1st day i had shaved quite a lot off my times.

After a good night’s sleep and my rice pudding for breakfast I was ready for Sundays riding conditions. The track was really hard and slippery on the warm up practice, but by the end of the day it became rough and the sand seemed deeper than the first day.
My bike took to the weekend riding conditions really well the only thing my Dad had to do was change the jets to cope with the freezing conditions.

I really enjoyed my weekend in Dunkirk with the ACU squad and Mark and I am looking forward to the next one.

See you all in the New Year
