A sweet time for David

January 23, 2008

Another week closer to the start of the season and the training is getting serious now. Unfortunately for me I have been ill for the good half of the week but nothing a little medicine can’t fix. I did manage to get to the gym Tuesday and Wednesday, I also managed to get to the local swimming pool but my tummy bug kicked in shortly after I started training so I had to go home. Nothing really happens during the week apart from working and training, boring old life really but hopefully all the hard work I am putting in over the winter will pay off at the nationals this year.

This weekend, Saturday the ACU Academy had a Fitness seminar at the British Sports Centre in Lilleshal (what a place); the place is huge and full of talented people. We had a look around during lunch time and there was a wall of fame, I recognised s few people’s names like David Beckham, Michael Owen, and Jermaine Defoe. At the sports centre we had a diet and fitness lecture in the morning, it was interesting because I found out that you can actually eat SWEETS at races, how cool is that! Later we had a number of tests on our body (fat%, weight, and cholesterol levels) we then went on to do a bleep test and strength test. I did really well I got a good score in the bleep test 13.6! I was beaten by one person (Mark Hucklebridge) who had 14.4, overall I was really happy with my fitness and my eating habits are really good so hopefully my body will be 100% for round 1 of the under 21's in a couple weeks .

Before I leave id just like to say a big thank you to ALBERT at THOR for supplying me with my kits for the year, EUROTEK and KTM. And a big thank you to a couple of other sponsors I have received….DEP Pipes, Muc-off and MX Shirts Prints.

Thanks Guys
Cya next week. ,br/> Take it easy DG48.
