Euro champs a challenge for Games

April 29, 2008

Havent wrote on here for a while, with the season begun its been all a bit hectic for the last couple of weeks/months. I started off the season pretty well, mixin in with all the adults getting some good resultsa and then i got a win at the !st round of the BYMX in Ireland, but everything seems to be going the opposite direction now, the last couple of weeks iv really been struggling and my results are no where near where they should be.

Last week the Academy and our families all set off to Italy for the 1St round of the European Championship . The track was awesome, best hard pack track iv ever seen in my life, and boy are those italians face, ha! ha!. I think i got a 15th and a13th in both free practise sessions and then went and had a pretty big crash in the main qualifying session and i had to settle for 19th . Moto 1 went terrible , i got stuck in the start gate and then rode like a mad man and i crashed 3 laps into the race and was forced to DNF with a sore shoulder. . Moto 2 started well i was running 7th on the first lap but struggled to keep on the pace with the top boys and dropped back. My shoulderwas so sore and weak i could hardly hold on, so was happy that i finished the race.

This weekend we have been to the 2nd round of the BYMX at Mildenhall, comin into this round with the championship lead was a bit nerve racking, and being hurt didnt help. knowing that the top lads were all practising on the track on thursday an i was sat in the physio having my shoulder and collarbone examined. I found out that i have badly torn my AC ligament between my shoulder and collarbone, an its going to take 3 months to heal. Race 1 started off leadin but faded to 5th. Race 2 wasa disaster, i crashed on lap 1 and hurt my shoulder again, but someone crashed and there was yellow flags everywhere so you had no chance to catch back up and then after 12 mins the race was finished.. Race 3 i was in 3rd and my handle bars came loose and dropped and so i had no chose but to stay on and finish the race i was 19th.

Chilling out know for the next two weeks then up to Dean Moor for the 3rd round of the under 21's
