Gamesy’s busy fortnight
December 18, 2007
Just got home from an awesome weekend at Dunquerke, France - absolutely loved travelling there (not) but it was definitely worth it.
The training with Mark Hucklebridge was really good, this was the first time I’ve had any training schools with Mark and he is a top quality guy - I picked up on a lot of things and I can’t wait for the next training day.
I found that Mark puts a lot of effort into helping us which really make you appreciate it, so I tried to give 110% back but at the same time everyone is relaxed which is really good to have a laugh and joke. (Man the weather was so cold), trying to warm your hands up on the exhaust pipe is really exciting especially when you’ve just burnt the palms of your gloves off and it’s now stuck to the pipe, and six lads walking the track in the pitch black just trying to keep warm was fun ha-ha.
Leading up to the trip to Dunkquerke was the Dirt Bike Show; I’ve never been to one before but was surprised at how good it was - it was a good to be able to catch up with some of the top guys at the tracks in the off season. We also had the ACU Academy presentation and unluckily for me I had to speak on the stage which was a bit nerve racking but all went very well. We then done a quick couple of photos for the MOTO Magazine who are one of the ACU Academy’s sponsors which was really fun (8 Lads squashed on a tiny sofa) (that’s man love right there) – ha-ha.
I actually picked up a couple of great sponsors for 2008, THOR and EUROTEK KTM, I am very grateful for those sponsors and they should see some of their products in the photos from the weekend. That pretty much covers the first two weeks of being in the ACU Academy.
Merry Christmas - Gamesy #48
