HIGH FIVES - Ashley Greedy
July 03, 2008
Talented Welsh Youngster Ashley Greedy didn't have the best of starts to 2008 but last month saw a machinery change, and now we're starting to see an improvement in his results, MOTO caught up with him recently for some HIGH FIVES.
MOTO: After a difficult start to the season on the PAR Honda, your now riding a private Suzuki with backing from RHL Activities, how are you finding the new bike?
“They're going really good, they're a bit more consistent than the Honda and if they do stop I can start them again not like the Honda so that's a lot better and I seem to be getting some good results so far.”
MOTO: We've noticed in a few of the less major events that you've been having a go on the 450f Suzuki, is that something that your trying out with a view to the future?
“Not really, it's to save a little bit of wear and tear on the 250f and they're just a lot of fun to ride, there's so much power and you can get good starts so it's just for fun really.”
MOTO: You've had a go at qualifying for the British and French Grand Prix but missed out on making the main races, are you planning on going to anymore this season?
“Yeah, I've got entries for three more, Italy, Lierop and another but I can't remember which one! So hopefully I'll be able to qualify for the races in those.”
MOTO: What are you hoping for from the rest of the season?
“Hopefully I'll get some wins in the Under 21's and try to improve on 3rd in the championship which is where I am now , the Masters championship has gone away from me because I missed a round for the French GP, and in the Maxxis British I'm hoping to get into the top 10.”
MOTO: Whenever you race you always seem to be number 33, or in the Grand Prix where the 33 is taken you've got the number 330 so the 33 is still in there somewhere, is there a special reason for that?
“No, it's just the number I've always had through the schoolboys so it's kind of stuck with me I suppose!”
Thanks Ash, good luck for the rest of the year.
