High Fives with David Harrison - Pro Circuit UK

January 17, 2008

The Harrison family have been around in motocross for the best part 30 years. CGH are now firmly set in stone as the UK’s distributor for Pro Circuit, with a top line brand like that it’s no wonder the Harrisons are kept busy. Moto caught up with David Harrison the oldest son of company head Colin.

What has been your motocross highlight in 2007?
I’d say Martin Barr on pole at the Desertmartin round of Maxxis British motocross Championship using Pro Circuit pipes and Ryan Villopoto at the MXDN at Budds Creek – both riders were very good.

What has been your best selling retail product in 2007?
The Pro Circuit Ti4 GP exhaust system and the Works Connection Elite Clutch Perch assembly, both great products for CGH in 2007.

Do you have any products in 2008 that you're really excited about?
We sure do - Hinson two piece clutch cover for the CRF150, it’s so cool and there really is a need for it on that particular bike and the new PC Exhaust pipes which are so quiet.

What riders have you supported/sponsored down the years?
Who haven’t we helped over the years, the list is like a who’s who of motocross – its certainly not easy trying to remember but here goes, we’ve had AMCA champions from 1975 onwards, Graham Noyce on both Maico and Honda factory bikes, Geoff Mayes, Billy Lyles, Jem Whatley, Paul Malin, Martin Barr, Neil Prince, Ricky Priest, Jamie Dobb, Chad Yarranton, Greg Hanson, Justin Morris, Mike Brown, Jason Dougan and various teams including Dixon Yamaha, CAT Honda and Cradley Kawasaki. The fact that we have been in this business now for over 30 years will give you some kind of idea of its content. Seriously though we have recently been considering running an advert which would include all assisted riders over the years, maybe readers could drop us a simple email including their name and year of assistance then we could include them in the advert - . It would certainly save some valuable time!

How did you get involved in motocross?
Believe it or not it was through my Dad’s interest in it, if you are asking how we as a company got involved in motocross then he is to blame.

What would you look for in a rider if they approached you regarding sponsorship?
Somebody who has an understanding that sponsorship is two way, we must get return from any assistance we give. Being able to ride a bike fast also helps.
