March 18, 2008
James Dodd the eighteen year old from Weston-super Mare is into his third British Maxxis Championship campaign this year and it will him onboard the Sandiford Honda team in the MX2 class. I caught up with James at the opening round of the Maxxis British Championship at Donington Park to see how things were going.
MOTO: How was last season for you?
JD: I felt last year was good and I was happy with my riding but I felt my fitness wasn’t up to the standard it needed to be.
MOTO: How have your winter preparations gone for this coming season?
JD: It’s been hard to coming home from a full days work knowing I have to go training but I’ve been determined and I’m sure I now have the correct level of fitness needed to compete at this level.
MOTO: What championships will you be competing in this year?
JD: I’m doing the full Maxis British motocross championship as well as the PAR Homes Under 21 championships. I’m also competing in the British Masters series as well as some selected Remedies Bar championship racing.
MOTO: How has 2008 started for you so far?
JD: It started on a real high when I gained my highest finishing position in the under 21 championship at Little Silver when I finished third in the opening moto but after the race I was given a one minute time penalty which effectively placed me down in twelfth.

MOTO: What are your goals for 2008?
JD: I would like to score as many points at the Maxxis British motocross championship as well as running consistently in the top five at the under21’s.
