Next stop Hollywood for Searle

January 29, 2008

After a terrific season in the World MX2 championship where 18 year old Tommy Searle secured a brilliant second place in the championship and a brilliant showing in the end of year motocross des nations in the USA, Tommy is all ready to pack up his kit bag and make his move to the good old US of A.

The move is in 2009 and he will be based in California where the sun always shines (well nearly) MOTO caught up with Tommy in the USA to ask him a few HIGH FIVE questions on his move Stateside.

MOTO: How does it feel knowing you will be the USA in 2009?

Tommy: Yes it feels good to know everything is in place now and the move is going to happen, I‘m looking forward to coming here and getting everything sorted with houses and everything.

MOTO: Will you being racing any of the AMA nationals in 2008 to get a taste of things to come?

Tommy: I’m not sure yet – I might do one or two but it depends on how everything is going at the Grand Prix’s first.

MOTO: Who's going to be with you in 2009, by yourself or is the Searle posse going as well?

Tommy: Probably Harriet my girlfriend will come if she wants to and then my Mum and Dad and the crew can come out whenever they want.

MOTO: Will it be sad day to leave the cold damp UK, what are you going to miss?

Tommy: Yes it will be sad to leave home but I can come back when I want – it’s not like I have to go out to the States, it’s something I want to do it.

MOTO: Hopefully there will be a spare bed at Searle Mansions for the MOTO crew when we come over to visit and bring supplies like Daddies sauce and baked beans, have you sorted a house yet or are you still looking?

Tommy: I have been looking at a bunch of houses out here and I still am. The houses have dropped in price so much out here that you can get a really nice house for a good price, so I’m pumped on that and hopefully I will end up with a cool one. Yes - I can rent a room to you guys but it would probably be cheaper for you to get a hotel!

MOTO: And on that note we best say good luck for 2008 and happy house hunting.
