3 into 2 just doesn’t fit
Well, here we are then -2008. I hope you all had a good Christmas and didn’t get too depressed sat around with the in laws, feeling bloated and bored. Hopefully everyone had a chance to have a great time, be around friends and family and generally kick back and have a rest. That’s what I did and it felt great to switch off from this project for while. 2007 was a tough year but a fruitful one for Moto. We went from six issues to nine, brought in Chussy to get to grips on the website and generally tried to offer up original editorial ideas. It was at times very taxing but ultimately hard work pays off.
Ricky Carmichael has shown that with his unprecedented success, but there can be a downside. RC himself finally burnt the wick at both ends too much last year and no doubt his Christmas took on a whole new meaning. His farewell tour just took the wind out of his sails and he ended up getting chronic fatigue disorder from working too hard. Everyone wanted a piece of him, probably nobody more than his wife and their few months old twin boys, and no doubt RC wanted sometime to spend with them. I should imagine Christmas at the Carmichael house was a very welcoming and relaxed place to be. If ever anyone has deserved to kick back then it’s Ricky Carmichael. Nobody has ever applied themselves more than that man. He will be missed in 2008. Now it’s a two horse race and by the time you read this we’ll already know who’s taken first blood in the fight between Stewart and Reed at Anaheim. It may not be either and we could all be reading about a surprise winner. But realistically at the end of the day it’s going to come down to a two horse race for the AMA Supercross title and that just doesn’t seem quite right. That extra bit of spice is missing out of our lives, like we’re not quite content. I’m not so sure if Ricky Carmichael feels the same, right now he probably couldn’t be more content in his life. For once I think Ricky won’t care who wins.
Happy New Year, I hope it’s a prosperous one. Stay safe.
Jeff
