Anderson and Greedy take Masters crown

October 15, 2007

Near perfect conditions greeted the riders at Foxhills for the Final Round of the British Masters Championship.
In the 85sw class Dan Thornhill took overall honours but it was Bradley Pocock who did enough to claim the championship title from Luke Norris.

In the 85bw class Luke Hawkins won both races on Saturday but a dnf in Sunday's race gave the overall win to James Hutchinson with Championship Winner Richie Worrall taking 2nd.

Lewis King dominated the Youth 125 Class claiming all 3 race wins and taking the Championship, good solid riding from Jack Hawes gave him second overall for the weekend by 2 points from Championship Runner up Tom Watts.

The Amateur 125 class saw Tom Fish take the weekend overall with 3 good rides from Championship Winner Owen Delaney.

In the Amateur Open class Nathan Parker took both wins on Saturday from David Campbell, but Campbell took the win on Sunday and with it the overall. James Shaw did enough over the weekend to take the title.

In the Pro 125 Race 1 Shaun Simpson got the holeshot and led all the way to the Finish with Kristian Whatley taking 2nd from Lewis Gregory in 3rd , a 7th place for Ashley Greedy was enough for him to secure the Championship with a race to spare.

Race 2 saw Simpson and Gregory out in front and they pulled a gap from the rest of the pack, the two swapped positions throughout but in the closing stages Gregory got past Simpson and held on to take the Race win.

Danny Smyth took the holeshot in Pro Open Race 1, after a lap Mark Hucklebridge took over the lead but a mistake saw him drop out of the top 10 with Mark Jones inheriting the lead. Jones rode well to take the win from a determined Brad Anderson who came through the field from dead last after stalling on the start line, the 2nd place was enough for him to take the Championship.
Pro Open Race 2 saw Hucklebridge take the lead but Jones was looking fast and soon passed him for 1st, with Jones pulling away Hucklebridge and Smyth battled until Anderson came past both of them to take 2nd place, Jones cruised to the win with Anderson in 2nd and Hucklebridge holding off Smyth for 3rd.
