Anstie gets third in Euro’s

The last round of the EMX 85 cc. European Championship was held today in the Italian track of Faenza, where French Jason Clermont (Honda) became the new European Champion and Max Ansite finished third. The Frenchman, thanks to a second and ninth position, managed to win the title with final rankings of 295 points. Despite the victory in both heats, Russian Alexsander Tonkov (Suzuki) could not manage to reach Clermont in the final rankings reaching only 287 points. The tie for the bronze medal between British Max Anstie (Kawasaki) and Dutch Jeffrey Herlings (Suzuki), both ending with 269 points, was resolved because of 7 race wins for Anstie against only one win for Herlings.
Tommy Kelly just missed out on a top ten overall championship finish.
