HAMPSHIRE MOTOCROSS CLUB SET TO BUST MATTERLEY AGAIN!
July 10, 2008
Hampshire Motocross Club are delighted to announce their annual charity event in aid of Children’s charity Leukaemia Busters is to be held at the Grand Prix circuit Matterley Basin, for the second year running. ‘The club once again owes huge thanks to Peveril Bruce of Matterley Estate for his support in allowing us to use his prestigious venue, we really are grateful’.
This year’s event is to be held on Sunday 3rd August and will be the 12th anniversary of the fundraising meeting. To date the club has raised in excess of £170,000 – a truly staggering total! ‘Once again we are expecting to receive an enormous amount of interest from those wanting to compete at such a spectacular venue; for this reason it will be run as a Closed to Club meeting with membership frozen for the time being. However we will be auctioning an entry on ebay again – last year we raised the brilliant sum of £437.00’. The auction will commence on Monday 14th July for one week, so keep watching and get bidding!
The weekend is all about the fundraising; kicking off with the 5 a side football on Saturday afternoon. The evening will see the BBQ up and running and the ever popular Horse Race Night, with the bar open to provide the much needed refreshment. Sunday will see a full race programme to include 4 groups of Solo’s and 2 groups of Quads (adults only), along with the now renowned auction.
‘The weekend is always hugely successful and we owe that to the tremendous support given by our members and those who attend as spectators; we really want to make this one the best yet!’
If anyone is able to offer anything towards the auction, please send your donation to: Hampshire Motocross Club, New House, Fobdown Farm, Fobdown, Old Alresford, SO24 9TD.
