Mackenzie leads British bid for MXDN with Stewart and Co looking to ruin party

Flying Scot Billy Mackenzie will lead Team Great Britain at the prestigious Red Bull Motocross at Donington Park over the weekend of 27/28 September. The CAS Honda rider will be joined by Tommy Searle and Shaun Simpson.
The event brings together teams representing countries from around the world and It has been staged annually since 1947, when the team of Bill Nicholson, Fred Rist and Bob Ray, representing Great Britain, the title, and with it the Chamberlain Trophy, for the first of 16 occasions.
"Des Nations is going to be awesome! In the last few years it has reclaimed itself as the biggest Motocross event of the year and everyone is going to go all out at Donington,” enthused Mackenzie who rode the course at the Leicestershire parkland venue in last year’s British Grand Prix when Searle was a winner.
“I get along really well with Tommy and Shaun, and I think we have a shot of winning in front of the home crowd. I've been getting excited about it over the last few months, so I hope we can give the fans something to cheer about. I'll definitely be going to give it everything I've got," added Mackenzie.
They come up against a strong American team all aboard Kawasakis and led by 2007 AMA Supercross champion and current Motocross title favourite
James Stewart.
"I'm excited to be a part of Team USA. My main goal this season was to win the motocross championship, and I knew if I could do that I would have a good chance of representing the USA at the Motocross of Nations," said Stewart who has Ryan Villopoto and Tim Ferry lining up alongside him.
The action takes in all three motocross classes, MX1, MX2 and Open.
