Following the recent outbreak of foot and mouth the Chairman of the ACU, Jim Parker urges both competitors and spectators alike to ensure that their planned off road event will still be taking place before they actually set off on their journey. With the understandable fear throughout the agricultural industry across the Country, the ACU staff at Head Office in Rugby are already starting to receive calls from Clubs who have been requested to cancel or postpone their events from concerned landowners and farmers. Whilst this has not been requested by DEFRA at this stage, it is understandable that some farmers may have difficulty in moving their livestock from the land where the event was due to take place. It is intended to keep a list of affected events on the website, http://www.acu.org.uk, if the event your concerned about is not listed we would encourage you to check with the Club via their website or telephone contact to confirm the event is still taking place.Send this article to a friend
