Motocross rider found hanging in storage container
May 05, 2008
A WESTON dad described as 'an excellent father' and a 'loving son' was found hanging in a giant storage container on Sunday.
Glenn Lord said goodbye to his parents as he left his Oldmixon home on Saturday night but was not seen alive by them again.
The 32-year-old former Broadoak School pupil was found just a few hours later in the Europark industrial estate, off Winterstoke Road, in a container he had previously hired out.
This week, Glenn's parents Stephen and Maureen spoke exclusively to the Weston & Somerset Mercury about their fondest memories of their son, a keen motocross biker, and the happy times they spent together.
Maureen said: "Glenn had a good sense of humour. He was generally a happy person but quite sensitive.
"He doted on his three-year-old daughter Kali and she doted on him. He was also close to his sister Beverley.
"The last time we saw Glenn was on Saturday night. He was sat in the garden with his dad.
"He went out about 7pm and said he would be back later. He never came back.
"His friend knocked on the door at about 11am the next morning and said we needed to go up to Europark because something had happened to him."
"He entered Weston Beach Race in 2006 and was very proud to get his T-shirt to say he had taken part."
An inquest was due to be opened into Glenn's death as the Weston & Somerset Mercury went to press. A cause of death has yet to be confirmed.
Glenn's funeral will be held at Weston Crematorium in Ebdon Road on May 8 at 3.30pm. Everyone who knew him is welcome to attend.
