Movers and Shakers - DAY THREE

October 17, 2007

Day three of “Movers and Shakers”, so far we’ve looked at Swift Suzuki, Pioneer, Molson and PAR Honda, today’s teams will be CAS Honda and Relentless Suzuki.

CAS Honda

CAS certainly did the business in 2007, not only did they scoop the MX2 Maxxis British title with Mike Brown but they narrowly missed out on the MX1 title with Ken Dedycker. The way to rectify that for the 2008 season is sign the rider who beat him and that is Billy Mackenzie, Billy has waited for the British crown for a long time and it will take a mammoth effort in the Maxxis championship for anyone to take that coveted title away. In the world’s it may be a different matter but I see a top five position for sure and with the backing of Honda it’s going to be close.

Brown returns as British champion in MX2, will he concentrate on the smaller bikes full-time this year, who knows but the guy is a true professional and a lot of younger guys need to take note. With Tommy missing from the Maxxis his biggest challenge may well be Steven Sword – top three for sure.

Relentless Suzuki

With one rider gone from the squad in Alex Snow, Relentless Suzuki still have an awesome line up of young British talent.

Lewis Gregory once again is racing the Maxxis MX2 class and will be looking for a stronger finish than 10th which he achieved this year. Many say he should be doing GP’s on a full-time basis but we will have to wait and see on the team’s schedule.

Making his debut year on the all new 450 Suzuki is Jamie Law making the switch from the MX2 class. Jamie could well be another surprise package in 2008 and may pull off a few podium positions – its going to be a tough long season for the rider from Cockermouth but he’s a tough cookie and more than capable.

There is one other rider to join the Relentless stable and he will be announced shortly.

Tomorrows teams will be Motovision Suzuki and Wulfsport KTM UK
