MOVERS and SHAKERS FOR 2008 - Wulfsport KTM and MVRD Suzuki (NEW SIGNING CHECK IT OUT)
October 18, 2007
2008 will see a whole bunch of new riders and maybe one or two new teams hitting the Maxxis, Under 21 and various other events up and down the UK. It looks like a brilliant year for British MX and that can only be a good thing.
“Movers and Shakers” today are teams from Ireland and England and they are Wulfsport KTM and MVRD Suzuki.
Wulfsport KTM
Wulfsport KTM have switched colours from green to orange and have brought in a couple of new faces – James Noble will ride the 450KTM after a few years onboard a Honda, no doubt James is itching to get back to racing after his untimely crash at Budds Creek. James is out to prove a point and will be up there with Billy and the rest chasing the British crown, in the world’s James could easily drop into the top ten with a few strong consistent rides.
Shaun Simpson stays and will keep plugging away to achieve his dream – after last years first round British championship win many thought he could challenge for a title. A few niggling injuries later his title dream was dashed, this year Shaun will be chasing a top three, is he capable? – he’s more than capable!
New kid on the Wulfsport KTM block is Martin Barr, Martin is going to be the one to watch in 2008, new bike, new team and new determination. A top five is a position to be aiming for and regular GP top 20’s, after his MXDN heroics he’s come of age.
MVRD Suzuki
The MVRD Suzuki boys didn’t have the best end to the year with the announcement that their main sponsor is switching teams but that was forgot at the last round of the Maxxis as Jason Dougan finally put together two great rides and land his first overall victory in 2007.
Jason will be hot on the back fender of both Brown and Swanepoel in 2008, combine that with great team spirit – 2008 could be a good year for the MVRD crew.
Jason needs consistency in the world champs but he’s determined to cement himself as one of the top riders in the series – expect a top ten finish in 2008.
The youngest rider of the team is James Cotterell, James will be racing in the British Maxxis championship and will be looking for a year to settle in at this level.
Well this news has come in only minutes ago the new rider for MVRD is Carl Nunn – Carl will bring so much to team in all levels and is another rider who thrives on team spirit – MVRD look like a team who mean business in 2008.
