MOVERS and SHAKERS FOR 2008

October 12, 2007

The 2007 season has finally come to an end apart from the Beach Race and the Sheffield Supercross, most riders have done their deals for the 2008 season and some are staying exactly where they are – lets take a look at the movers and shakers for next year.
We will run two teams a day and expect a few surprise predictions on the way – some you may agree with some you may think “what is he talking about”

PIONEER YAMAHA

The MX1 ride is with Wayne Smith, Wayne certainly prefers the bigger bike and will be looking for a far better finish than 15th which he got in this years Maxxis British Championship.
MAXXIS Prediction – 6th

The MX2 ride is with Dan Arnold and one other, if Dan has an injury free year then expect good things from the young up and coming star.
As soon as MOTO finds out who the other rider is you guys will be the first to know.

SWIFT SUZUKI

Swift next season will be looking for titles, as this year has been a learning curve and with the backing of full factory bikes the team will be desperate for good results.

Is Hamblin going to be back with Swift next year?

Pascal Leuret could be that man in MX2, Pascal is a flyer and with a factory RMZ 250F underneath his French frame anything could happen.
WORLD Prediction – 8th
MAXXIS Prediction – 4th

Jake Nicholls is another who has improved over the last year, unfortunately injured at the moment but could be a surprise package next year.
WORLD Prediction – Top 20
MAXXIS Prediction – 8th

Swift is packed full of talent and one rider who could certainly make his mark next year and that’s Elliott Banks Browne, EBB will be looking to win the British Under 21 title for sure and secure consistent GP finishes.
WORLD Prediction – Top 25
MAXXIS Prediction – 10th
BRITISH UNDER 21 CHAMPION

Now for the new kid on the Swift block and that’s Brad Anderson, some say he’s lost a few fans with his performance at Pontrilas and some say he’s more popular than ever – well next season we shall see but whatever happens he will always give 100%.
Now with a full season in the GP’s is Brad going to perform at this level on a consistent basis – let’s wait for Valkensvard to find out.
WORLD Prediction – Top 20
MAXXIS Prediction – 4th

Monday's teams will be PAR HONDA and Molson Kawasaki
