THE thrills and spills of motocross racing are coming to Whitby on Sunday for the fifth round of the DEP 2 Stroke British Championship.

British world championship contender, James Noble of Whitby, is the star attraction in the MX1 World Championship event and stands a good chance of doing well in his home event at the Skelder track.

Former MX championship rider Matt Bates, one of the many organisers of the event, said: "It's fantastic that James is competing in our series on Sunday.
"Both the DEP 2 Stroke British Championship and MX are growing rapidly. "I'm sure for James that racing in front of his local crowd will be a great experience and he will be anticipating lots of support and I hope to see many first time spectators turning up at Whitby to cheer him on. "I'm sure they will thoroughly enjoy their day out and I'm confident James will send them home extra happy with a podium finish."

Also defending their titles are Brits Mark Eastwood and David Willet.

The next round of the championship is in Essex on 10 August.

Gates open on Sunday at 9am and the first race starts at 11.30am.
Admission is £10 for adults, £5 for children and a family ticket (two adults and two children) costs £25.
