PROMISING WEEKEND FOR RELENTLESS YOUTH ACADEMY
April 24, 2007
The Suzuki Relentless Youth Academy were on promising form at the weekend, as riders Jim Davis and Matt Ridgeway posted strong top-ten results in the DEP 2-stroke Championship at Canada Heights.
With backing from Suzuki GB, the Relentless Youth academy focus on nurturing young talent, and proved its worth with strong rides from both riders in the three races of the day.
Nineteen year-old Matt Ridgeway from Bristol had a promising start to his weekend, finishing just off the podium in race one, before setting a blistering pace in the second race to finish in second spot. A big crash in race three left Matt to remount, but still came home in a solid 12th spot.
Team-mate Jim Davis from Essex, consistently upped his pace through the weekend, improving his pace in each race to finish with seventh, fifth and fourth place positions.
Academy chief, Paul Butler commented, “What a great weekend for our guys in this championship. It's a very competitive series, and it’s promising to see both riders riding so consistently. I’d also like to say well done to one of our younger riders, Luke Dean. Despite being un-well he rode to a brilliant 8th place overall on his RM85 at Culham in the BYMX”.
