Klemen Gercar (pronounced Gerchar) will be one of Europes talented young riders competing in Britain this year. 17 year old Klemen from Lukovica in Slovenia (20km from the capital, Ljubljana) will be the first ever Slovenian to sign up for the full British Championship series riding in the MX2 class.
As the reigning European MXY2 Champion and with two Slovenian National titles (85cc & MX2 classes) under his belt, Klemen is looking at gaining valuable experience in the prestigious British Maxxis series. With the backing of Bike It Yamaha UK Dixon Racing, Klemen added " thanks to the British Federation and Steve Dixon, I've been given this fantastic opportunity to race alongside some of the best riders in the world and am sure it will not only be a great experience for me but also, hopefully, take my motocross to the next level - I'm eagerly looking forward to the start of the season in March"
In addition to the British Championships, Klemen will also be contesting his own National Championships in Slovenia as well as selected European Championship rounds with his first UK appearance at the Hawkstone International in March - it certainly looks like being a busy for Klemen!
