The weekend ahead and what a weekend - Grand Prix of Germany
June 26, 2008
This weekend the GP boys and girls head for German circuit Teutschental which is round eight of the world motocross championship. Both the MX1 and MX2 classes are undecided and this could go right to the wire at the final GP in Italy.

There’s no Stephen Sword in the MX2 class as he’s still resting his shoulder but all eyes will be on the three way battle of Searle who is currently holding the red plate, Cairoli and Rattray, like most weeks nobody can guess the outcome but I’m sure it will be another momentous tussle.
Same can be said for the boys in MX1, riders are hitting form and this makes for great racing and like MX2 it’s anyone’s guess for the overall winner. Phillipaerts, Pourcel, Coppins and Ramon are all leading contenders but you can never count out a surprise from anyone within the top ten.
“"The Teutschental track is one that I ride well," said Ramon.”But to me it is one track like any other. I'm going there looking to win or at least finish on the podium. I'm riding very well at the moment and my Suzuki is going really well. It should be a good weekend for me."

So what about team mate big Ken, how are you feeling about this weekend?
"The crash in France was quite a big one and my arm since then has been quite swollen and it's caused me a lot of pain," he said. "I have consulted my doctor who told me the muscle under my arm is inflamed. He has advised me to take some medication and to keep on training and it should be okay for Teutschental.
"I'm looking forward to racing there. It's a fun track to ride and my results have been okay there in the past. I need to make up some of the points I lost at the last GP so I can challenge at the front of the championship again."
The ladies also make a pleasant return in Germany but one unlucky rider will be missing due to injury and that’s Katherine Prumm, “Naturally I’m upset and disappointed,” she said. “The back wheel just stepped-out for a moment and I went down but I landed awkwardly and knew I had done some damage. The x-ray showed that the bones were quite badly displaced so I had the operation right away. The plate should help my recovery. Luck has not been with me this season. I want to thank the Van Beers team, Yamaha and everyone in Europe for their support so far.”

Katherine disappointed to be sitting out in Germany.
