Third Round of The Scottish Youth and MX2 Championships
April 30, 2008
Motor racing fans are in for a treat as the Scottish Motocross circus rolls into the Borders for the third round of the Scottish MX2 and Youth Motocross Championships. The action on the 3rd and 4th of May takes place at the superb Duns Motocross Track with a selection of jumps and sweeping turns to rival the best in Europe. Riders from all over Britain and Ireland will be competing in this, the third round of the Championships, hosted by the Borders Motocross Club.
The championship races will be held over two days, with the youth classes having three races each on Saturday and two each on Sunday. The Youth 144/250f class is currently lead by Gary Sharp who will be trying to fend off the likes of Clinton Duff and Steven Craig while the youth 125 class is hotly contested by Ryan McLean and Dale McAulay. In the 85 Big Wheel class Matthew Fleming will be out to continue his fine run of form and extend his championship lead and in the 85 Small Wheel class Ryan Livingstone remains the boy to beat. Junior 65cc rider Jay Lamb sits comfortably on top of the series standings and it would take some form of misfortune to stop him from taking another clean sweep of wins.
The adults on their Monster MX2 250cc machines will have three races on the Sunday, with front runners Ewan McLaren and Frazer Norrie chasing early championship leader Sean McDonald.
The racing starts at 11.00 AM on each day and for those using sat-nav the post code isTD11 3NS or there are directions on http://www.dunsmotocross.co.uk.
