New routes for today and tommorow. Caselli and Guerrero are out of the race, Greeks remain all in. The tiredness becomes catalytic convertor of the results. ΛΑΜΣ – The Auto Moto Club of Serres, the orgnizator of 83rd ISDE had created easier routes for the 3rd and 4rth day, in order the riders to regain their power and courage, since they have reached their limits the previous days.
The natural beauty of the new route in combination with the varying morphology of Serres’ mountains refreshed the atlhetes phsychology. The passage through the river in the new special Test of Lailia, the mud and the big ruts made the athletes feel like riding in a different season of the year. The difference of the temperature from the Racetrack of Serres, where the centre of ISDE is, to Lailia reaches the 20c degrees.
The tiredeness of the previous days, in combination with the motorcycles signs of wear, were the main reason for the increased number of abandoments, despite the easier route. Falls were frequent, but no one exceptected two leader to retire from the race, due to light injuries.
Some ISDE action from Day two
Cristobal Guerrero, broke his leg, while putting it on the ground with lot of pressure.
He will not need operation, since it was a clean broke, but he must stay without to move for 4-6 weeks. We will stay till the end of the race in Serres to encourage the rest of his team.
Automatically Juha SALMINEN passed in the top of classification and of his category E2, furthermore he gained a safety difference from the second Sebastian GUILLAME. Ivan CERVANTES accepts the attacks of the American Ricky DIETRICH, today they shared the victories in E1 category.
The American Kurt Caselli had also a fall that forced him to abandon the race.
In the classification of the national teams did not change much. The Frenches remain first increasing the difference from the Italians, Americans are 3rd.
The six drivers of National continue and the team remains in the 15th place (between 26 National Teams). Despite the retirement of Koyloykatsi in Junior Team they maintained in the 14th place.
Today, Thursday (Day-4) the 230 kilometres of 3rd day will be repeated, with 6 special ways.
