Tiny Marcus is looking for glory
January 27, 2008
Tiny Devizes motocross rider Marcus Boros is being tipped as a star of the future after a roaring start to his young career.
The six-year-old Dauntsey's Aided Primary School pupil rides a 50cc KTM and caused quite a stir on his first competitive outing by taking the holeshot at his first race meeting with Ringwood MX Club.
Mum Carol said: "He is just so relaxed about it. He understands how it all works and when he races he cleans his boots and the bike. He loves it and is a joy to watch."
But the schoolboy hotshot has his feet planted firmly on the ground focusing on his schoolwork during the week and reserving motocross for the weekends.
"He loves his motocross but he doesn't talk about it at school," said Carol.
"He doesn't even wear his caps, he knows it is for weekends and school is for learning."
The fast gating racer went on to finish fifth overall in the club championship as well as clinching the second step of the podium in the five-round Wilden British Youth Championship.
With the recent announcement by Ringwood Club of an all new Best of British Auto Championship, weekends this year are going to be busy for the Boros family.
Mum and dad, Carol and Kevin, are gearing up for the year's racing where Marcus also has his eye on taking the honours in the Cotswold Championship.
