Not for these unlucky chaps as thieves decided to help themselves to their bikes over the Christmas period - unfortunately its getting all to common in our sport.

Comment WHITCHURCH police are appealing for witnesses after a child's motocross bike was stolen from a stable in a field on the St Mary Bourne to Upper Wyke Road.

The theft happened between Sunday 2 December and Thursday 6 December but police have only now issued their plea.

The thieves also took various items of tack equipment including two head collars, two lunge lines, a whip, a lead rope, a back brace and a pair of wellington boots. Pc Paula Osmond, of Whitchurch police station, said: "We are hoping someone may have witnessed the incident or seen someone acting suspiciously in the area. "If there were any witnesses we urge them to contact the police as soon as possible."
