Venhill brake lines now TÜV approved as standard
August 21, 2007
Venhill’s range of British-made brake and clutch lines now come with TÜV approval - the only braided steel lines sold in the UK that comply with the tough German test as standard. Venhill has built its reputation in the UK since the 1970’s and its lines are the choice of many top race teams, including Bike It Yamaha in motocross and Hydrex Honda in British Superbikes. However, in the German market TÜV approval is an essential badge of quality. With over 50 years’ experience, TÜV is the leading international expert providing testing and certification to a range of industries covering the Aerospace, Automotive, Defence, Marine and Medical sectors. In order to pass its stringent requirements Venhill’s braided brake lines had to withstand a critical burst test at 10,000 psi, a 1,445 Newtons (325 lbs) tensile pull test and survive a 35 hours whip test, during which the brake lines are battered continuously to check for resistance to fatigue. Once TÜV approval was confirmed Venhill applied for and achieved the DOT standard, which is necessary to sell into the road bike market in the USA. “TÜV is more than an internationally recognised badge of quality,” comments Venhill MD Max Adams. “It means that British riders can buy Venhill brake and clutch lines confident that they will withstand just about anything they are likely to encounter.” Call 01306 885111 or visit http://www.venhill.co.ukSend this article to a friend
