DEP CRF250 2006 TWIN EXHAUST SYSTEM
March 30, 2007

For what it’s worth, Honda have done a good job in lowering the decibels of their baby banger, but in doing so made racing one a little bit more expensive. OK, you may not damage both pipes but can you imagine how heart-breaking that would be if you lay it down in the first turn and 30-plus riders mangle your bike. The complete DEP system is priced at £489.98 but it’s available in four different sections in case of such incidents; Header, Centre Section and the two individual silencers. It incorporates all the original mounting points and requires no jetting changes, so you can literally just bolt on and go. The system blasts out 94.8Db which is 1.2Db under the new FIM and ACU regulations and obviously gives your Honda increased power otherwise why would they spend hours of testing? The best feature about the DEP system is the silencer end caps. They’re attached with four bolts and not the normal rivets. This allows you to change the packing without getting angry as your flat battery drill and undersized, blunt drill bit make it look like you’re scooping ice cream when trying to drill the rivets out. The silencers also come with a re-packing indicator sticker that changes colour when they need replacing. Now that is a right touch. – Jeff.
