OAKLEY THUMP 2’s
March 30, 2007

They’re at it again aren’t they? After introducing the world’s first audible eyewear Oakley have redesigned and revamped their Thump to the next level with the Thump 2. 240 of your favourite songs (or 4 Pink Floyd albums) stored in the arms of your sunnies. The world of technology has gone mad, put a pair of these on and you’ll turn into the lawnmower man. No wires like an iPod or a good old walkman like I still use (I’m an 80s teenager still running tapes and VHS) the Thump is the ultimate in hands-free tunes. Ideal when you’re down the beach or just don’t want to listen to people without seeming ignorant, although you’ll look a proper dinlo wearing them when it’s pissing down. Clear lenses are required I reckon. The earphones are fully adjustable to suit your ears even if they’re like Prince Charlie’s. For all you techno geeks out there the Thump 2s have a 75 MHz Digital Signal Processor with an 18-bit sigma delta DAC – so there. I’m lost with that but I know that makes for quality audio. The lenses are plutonite (which are only damaged by spinich-ite I presume) and protect your minces from 100% of all UV rays. They offer incredible clarity, if not of mind then definitely vision. The Thump 2 are great for a night of disco and staring at women but they’re also ideal for listening to chill out music and sheltering you eyes from the bright lights of the morning hangover. With all the pointless family visits also in line for Xmas these could be just the ticket for me to escape over the festivities. – Jeff.
