THOR CORE JERSEY PANTS

March 30, 2007

The kit...

Let’s face it, Thor have got it going on. Over in the States they pretty much rule the roost with their big rivals Fox, and because of that they continue to produce quality kit. With big hitters like Reed, Tortelli and the Pro Circuit team along with freestyle gods Pastrana and Adams it’s obvious they have to come up with the goods and yet again they have. The Core line is their top of the range gear and it shows. The jersey is really breathable even thought it isn’t completely constructed from a mesh fabric. It’s designed with the seams to work with you in the riding position through the exclusive ‘no-bind’ pattern. 13 separate panels are tailored together to give you complete freedom of movement. The sleeve length has come under special attention along with the cuff to reduce arm pump. Other features include a silicone tail to keep it in your pants and pre-curved padded elbows.

The pants or trousers as we call them down my way are in a word… brilliant. They are so comfortable you could give ‘em to your missus to wear as jimmy jams. Again the design centres around the rider’s movements (on the track I assume, not what they get up to off it!). They continue to run with a ratchet style waist closure but have improved the arse panel by using a higher quality nylon. A split rear leg construction works better with the rider as you move around on the motorcycle and the sublimated spandura stretch panels also help the cause. Six filter mesh panels provide the rider with better ventilation than ever before. All said and done the Thor core line will fit like a velvet cat suit and last longer than a mistimed fart in Sunday church. —Jeff.
