Kinver Autos held it fourth and final meeting of the year at Upton Court last Sunday; surprisingly this was only the ninth Midlands region meeting of the year due to cancellations etc.
Thankfully the weather gods were on our side again bright brilliant sunshine for most of the weekend with a unusual cold chilly wind to boot. Unfortunately none of the forecast showers materialised and despite the clubs best efforts watering all Saturday night dust was as problem from very early on in the meeting which required a couple of intervals for watering. Never the less despite the breaks plus a lengthy delay for a injured inter rider which required a visit from the air ambulance the full three blocks of racing were completed plus the first club team race of the year.

Kinvers rider of the day was Louis Hill in the MX2 seniors maxing out with forty-five points for first overall. Mr consistent Craig Chamberlain also claimed first overall in the MX2 experts with thirty-eight points ahead of James Shand who picked up third place with twenty-five points. Ben Hodgkins Andy Jenkins and Matt Gordon all finished second in their respected classes, Ben scored thirty four points in the inters class while Andy picked up thirty six points in the MX1 seniors and Matt finished off the day with thirty four points in a very competitive MX1 experts.

Josh Bate had another good week in the under 18 juniors finishing third overall with twenty-four points. Other riders who got into double figures on the day were Nathan Smith also in the under 18 juniors who picked up seventeen points, Sam Price in MX2 senior picked up eighteen points, Ray Timmins in the MX1 Juniors as did Ricky Chamberlain in the MX1 experts, brother Craig picked up another twenty two points after having a double entry also in the MX1 expert class .

The last race of the day saw the first team race event of the year Kinver played host to the Junior team race, the team was selected on the basis of the top points scorers in all the junior classes on the day. Kinver riders who qualified were Josh Bates, Nathan Smith, Jack Price and Ray Timmins.

All seamed to raise there game for the team race battling it out in a very competitive field finishing fifth overall leaving the club in good stead for the forth coming rounds.

On a down side Kinver lads picked up three more injuries over the weekend poor Michael Hudson never even got to race after working late into the night helping water the track slipped and got caught by one of the wheels on the tractor (driven by no less than his father Mick) breaking a bone in his foot, while Matt Watson returning from a eight week absence due to a broken leg in the MX2 experts caught it again during the second race causing him to miss the rest of the meeting while Jake Chamberlain in the same class suffered a heavy fall after also having a double entry into the MX1 experts dislocating his shoulder, thankfully the first aid were on hand to put it back into place with the aid of lots of gas and air.
