The weather gods were among the riders at Kinver
June 13, 2008
At last the weather gods were with us. Brilliant sunshine and scorching temperatures (well compared to the last few weeks) greeted riders at All Setts Farm, Martley near Worcester for Sedgley’s first meeting at their new track. The track its self at this moment in time is a flat field, which rode and held up well. The club decided to leave it ‘au natural’ for the first meeting hoping to get feedback from riders planning to make alterations before there next meeting in August.
Kinver riders took to the track well none more so than the under 18 juniors claiming a 1-2-3 on the day Josh Bates took the overall with three excellent riders finishing second in each race for thirty six points.
Michael Hudson claimed two race wins but had a disastrous second moto only managing one point leaving him in second overall with thirty one points. third place on the day went to Nathan Smith finishing with a 3-3-4 for twenty eight points. all three riders will be looking forward to next weeks home meeting at Upton Court which will host the MX2 junior team race.
Not to be outdone Gary Bate finished with a 2-3-4 for thirty points and third overall in the MX1 Seniors. In the MX2 seniors Sam Price paid the price for a fall on the last lap pushing him down the field giving him a return of 5-3-2 for twenty eight points and third overall. Kinver only other trophy winner on the day went to Inters master Ben Hodgkins despite being Kinver top scorer on the day with a return of 1-2-2 for thirty nine points Ben finished second overall.
The only other Kinver riders to get into double figures on the day were Craig Chamberlain in the MX2 Experts with twenty one points and Jim Shand in the MX1 Experts with eighteen points.
