Hard work pays off for East Kent SSC
April 22, 2008
It’s great to be back, after a couple of disastrous weekends meant meetings have had to be cancelled due to the weather, East Kent held their 5th meeting of the year at Staplehurst. The committee has done a lot of work to the track and made a really good job of it considering what the weather has been like. The track now offers some good chances for overtaking, the rumble around the paddock was the going was good. We had a full 3 blocks of exciting racing, on a glorious spring day.
All the best to Jack Hasemore who hurt himself battling for 2nd place in the 3rd Moto of a double set up for the seniors Get Well Soon from East Kent.

We held a double line up in the Seniors which meant there were four races with the riders entering three each. Karl Johnson won the first race with Arron Jenner in second and David Taylor in third. In the second moto Arron came in first David second and Joe Cundle third. In the third race Karl came in first place again with David gaining another second and Joe another third. The fourth and final race of the day couldn’t have been more exciting with both Arron and Karl taking a tumble, commiserations to Karl as his bike didn’t go again and after winning two races of the day didn’t make the podium. Arron got up though and managed to finish the race in second place behind Joe (well done Arron) with Peter Hook coming in third. All this meant that at the end of the day Arron took top spot on the podium David second and Joe was third.
In the Amx class Wild Man Willis took the first race Alix Foreman came in second and Brian Carter third. Alix then came in first in the second race but lucked out in the third loosing him a podium spot Brian took another third. In their last race of the day Wild Man won, Matt Hornby came second and Brian made it a hat trick of thirds. So at the end of the day Wildman Willis took top spot on the podium Brian Carter second and Matt Hornby the third.
The Big Wheels first race was won by Lewis Dowsett followed by Jordan Divall in second and Toby Harkness in third place. Their next race of the day saw Lewis have a second win with Dan Guy taking second and Jordan coming in third. Jordan had a good day winning the third moto followed by Toby Harkness in second place and Lewis in third. On the podium Lewis came in top Jordan second and Toby got third place.

In the Small Wheels Lee Newby came back after an injury to win the first race, well done Lee. Toby Stubberfield came in second followed by Steven Robinson. Ryan Fellowes won the second race with Dan Packman coming in second and Jack Eldridge in third. Their last race of the day gained Ryan a second win, Lee was second with Jack behind him. Top spot on the day went to Ryan, Lee got the second and Jack the third.
The Juniors had an exciting day with Jack Wilson winning the first race Patrick O’Neil coming in second and Jake Deacon third. Jack and Patrick swapped places in the second race Jake got another third. The last race saw Jack and Patrick battling for first place again Jack got it so took top spot on the day Patrick got second and Jake Deacon third.
In the Autos got a surprise today with Albie Wilkie coming first overall as he came first in all three races surely some one to look out for in the future! Jake Kemp took the second spot as he had two seconds, one in the second race the other in the third. Bradley Smith took third coming in third place in the first and last race. Lewis cloud also did well with a second in the first race and third in the second race.
