Rain didn’t spoil play at Yarley
March 31, 2008
Corsham SSC hosted round 3 of the club champs and qualifiers on 30 March at Yarley. Overnight rain didn’t spoil the track in any way providing what can only be described as perfect conditions from start to finish.
The Open class were first to the gate, Danny Iles took control of this group with 3 race wins, James Dodd and Dave Dibble rode well finishing a well deserved 2nd and 3rd overall.
Amx 125 /250F saw some fantastic racing. Matt Ridgeway of Fowlers Hardcore Racing KTM rode well in races 1 and 2 taking the chequered flag, bike problems in race 3 pushed him into second spot. Jack Phelps is getting back on form settling for second in the first 2 races and having the win in the final race. Matt Rogers enjoyed the Yarley circuit finishing 3rd overall just ahead of Mike Oram. John Beer and Luke Compton made up the top 6.
Ross Keyworth finished 1st overall in the Senior class giving Alex Hussey some competition. Both these lads rode well with respect for each other, Alex taking second place in round 3 of the championship. Jake Alsop and Kristian Barry were inseparable all day, Daniel Evans is still on form with Gregg Duddridge having his best ride for a long time joining the top 6 finishers.
A good line up of Big Wheels entertained the strong spectator crowd. Jansen day rode consistently taking maximum points, Zac Alsop and Danny Jones can be proud of their performance , Brad Wheeler, Gerwyn Pritchard and Chris Grindle finished in the top 6.
Oakley Gwyther a new member to the club rode superb given this was his first race meeting, a little more practice and he’ll be there with the front runners.
